All in a Day's Work

Yesterday, I spent the whole day in my daughter's classroom!  I literally woke up at 5:30 a.m. and helped her with the morning preparations, helping students, organizing cupboards, and lastly, creating another bulletin board!  I also took some other pictures of various items we created in the summer.  Enjoy!

Center Organization Chart
My daughter will using velcro to change the different centers (velcro and picture will be placed in the middle of each circle).  Each child will have their own clothes pin with their name on it which will be placed on the outside of the circle that corresponds with their center.

A Look Back

These are some of the boards that we started the school year off with!  My good friend, Karin, and I spent an entire weekend creating each board.  We really enjoyed ourselves because it was like creating one, BIG scrapbook page that people would constantly be looking at.  We also made sure to laminate everything so we could get more than one use out of our hard work!  That is why there is a slight glare.
We converted this blank wall into a showcase for students' work.
This is what my daughter is using to manage behavior in her kindergarten class.  We printed off the different labels from another great blog, (sorry I do not remember the name) and just added the paper!

This was the welcome board.  Each student had their own animal with their name attached to it!
This board is in the reading center! This is my favorite board!
We created the table centerpieces using cans, spray paint, and a few cheap plastic plates from Walmart.  I scraped the table numbers for an added touch!  We also made the little monster boxes which held a "Welcome Poem" and a few fun treats.  This is how each table looked for open house!
This is the parent communication board which is right by my daughter's classroom door.  She post different information for parents like upcoming events, lunch menus, and newsletters.

Here is a better shot of the Fall/Halloween board.

Fall/Halloween Board

My daughter began her first teaching job about a month ago and I have been assigned bulletins for this year.  I have been a scrapbooker for a few years now so with my recent retirement, help from a friend, and a large amount of scrapbooking materials, I have created a few "masterpieces."  This is our most recent bulletin board that has proven to be a bit of a challenge due to it's awkward shape.  Once we got going, everything seemed to come together nicely.  We will be making a few subtle changes to transfer the board over from Fall/Halloween to Thanksgiving.
